Independent: Jacks is used to taking care of themself and does not enjoy relying on others.
Resourceful: As a result of preferring to do things alone, they like to find ways to make their job easier.
Observant: This also makes them pay closer attention to the things and people around them so that they can figure out the best course of action. They don't take much pride in it.
Blunt: They don't really care about other people's opinions on things and will say what they think.
Demanding: Because they do so much themselves, when they see other people lazing around, they form a bad opinion of them. Especially if their job effects Jacks's. They expect other people to work just as hard as they do.
Antagonizing: They just want to see how far they can push people.

Everything fizzes like an old, old movie. Black and white static and crackling noises.
A lady - you recognize as your mother - sits down in front of you and pulls out these strange silver objects and a red, round marble. You squint at the strange collection of items.
"What are these?"
"Knucklebones-" She replies with a grin. "Or, Jacks."
She teaches you how to play and other soon join in until there is a competition and a crowd.
The dream fades out peacefully and without much note.

✴ b a c k g r o u n d

Jacks had a relatively normal though slightly alternative childhood. Far from a white picket fence,
he and his two younger siblings were raised to travel - spending some months in apartments, 
others in trailers, in the woods, on the road. They attended political rallies and concerts and met
all sorts of strange people. Raised by a single mother who really loved and wanted kids, however, this
lifestyle didn't feel like a hassle but more like an adventure. 

They went through a two year period of hazy memories that they can't quite remember all of, even
without the Deep Sleep project.

When the deep sleep project was announced, they had mostly settled into an apartment near
their college campus (second year, major in graphic design, minor in astronomy). She was informed by her mother that
all four of their family unit had been chosen and, as such, felt no guilt going into the project. 
It was obviously a lie.

Upon awakening, they looted some bodies that had been crushed during the earthquake of Summer 59 -
unsure of the new world, they wanted to gather resources. This included: a backpack, a beanie, and some
rings/bracelets/watches (easiest to access). In their pocket they had brought a portable music player (though
it no longer works due to... lack of batteries), some headphones, and their coin pouch ($20 of coins).

They are curious about the creatures of the new world and want to learn more information about them.
They think harpies are hella cool though.

- Though they do enjoy taking walks with other people
- Despite how isolated they sound, they actually enjoy company (just not dependency)
- Only soft spot to their scrutiny are young children (under 16) because they're used to taking
care of their younger siblings. Fond of animals because they trust them
- Despite their tendency to loot/hoard resources, they're not usually attached
to material items or that greedy, they just want to be prepared
- Been learning krav maga and various other forms of martial arts since they were seven
